From the simulacrum of New York presented in Grand Theft Auto IV, to the stark utilitarian city planning projects, isotropic space is given texture through our imaginative spatial practice.
“The Big Shake-up” explores fictional space, and the generation of meaning in the ground between the Real and the Imagined. While real-spaces are inhabited by the imagination, imagined spaces are constructed through collaged images of the real. Via contemporary computer game design technologies, the artist will attempt to create a real space out of the imagined. The experiment will act as a case-study for our phenomenological experience of space.
